ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
Why the group is campaigning
Candwr Solar Community Awareness is a local campaign responding to the proposed Candwr Solar Farm. The group says its aim is to protect the countryside, wildlife and community, and to help residents understand where the development and its associated infrastructure could be located.
The poster brings the indicative landscape plans together in one annotated view. It is intended to make the overall scale and layout easier to understand and to show how the proposed solar areas relate to surrounding homes, routes and landscape features.
Landscape and scale
The map shows proposed solar panels across a number of separate fields, allowing residents to consider the combined scale and possible change to the rural landscape.
Wildlife and habitats
Its key identifies ancient woodland, protected and removed vegetation, skylark breeding areas, watercourses, flood zones and proposed new planting.
Access and infrastructure
The plans mark cable routes, construction compounds, access tracks, a substation, inverter stations, fencing, CCTV and public rights of way.
Heritage and community
The map also identifies areas of built heritage and archaeological sensitivity, helping residents see these features alongside nearby communities.
Candwr Solar Community Awareness welcomes questions and local information about the proposal.
