It’s that time of the year
Our 4th appeal in fact, when we all work together and send some love in a box this Christmas time to those homeless or vulnerably housed across South Wales & Bristol. As we do all year round, we are really trying to help those struggling at this time of year and running up to Christmas especially spread some kindness & support.
Last year we collected just over 1500 boxes and helped over 40+ points of need including night shelters, outreach kerbside teams, family hostels, safe houses as examples. It would be wonderful if we could beat this figure this year and make our 2017 appeal the biggest yet helping more people in need. If you are an individual, family, group, school, club, church, hospital, organisation, business … then we would love your support by collecting donations of either a filled wrapped shoebox, an unwrapped new toy or a chocolate selection box. Thank you to Undy school & St Julians Primary for getting on board already.
Please see the SLS poster below for all the details you need on contents.
- The important change to the box is that we must be able to take the lid off so we can check contents.
- The content is also slightly different this year so please check.
If you want to give ‘new’ gloves, hats, scarves or ‘new appropriate items’ as extras please donate in a bag alongside the boxes and we will add these to the rough sleeper projects.
* Please note we collect clothing, camping resources & foodstuffs all year round but these cannot be dropped at the depots below due to business space.
Please contact email@example.com
The drop off points are on the map below:
You can start dropping your boxes from Monday the 23rd October. The closing date is the 8th December but the earlier the better with drop offs across Bristol & South Wales. If you are a member of SLS then you can also drop to local members. Please check the group pages above.
Thank you for caring … Together we really can change the world for the better and help those in crisis.
