Caerleon Community Times is a local community magazine published MONTHLY by local residents, James & Julie Dawson. James & Julie who took over publication of the magazine in January 2025 from long-standing publisher Richard Robling - who establish the magazine in 2008 and retired in December 2024. We applaud Richard's long standing committment to his community and wish him well in his retirement from the Mag. Caerleon Community Times (CCT) normally consisting of 32 pages. It is distributed to all business & domestic letter boxes in Caerleon. In February 2025, the distribution was increased to include Ponthir, Lower Llanfrechfa, & Christchurch. The delivered ciruclation is around 4,100 copies with an additional 150 distributed to local pubs, restaurants, post office and other public buildings for the public to pick up and take away. The magazine is also published (in full) as an "On-screen Page Turning Magazine" and can be viewed on our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/communitytimescaerleon The magazine has a wealth of community information, articles and news stories, with occasional poetry & even recipies from local residents. There are regular features & news posted by Newport City Council & local councillors, Ponthir Community Council, Caerleon Arts Festival, Village Hall, Caerleon Civic Society and the U3a (University of the 3rd Age). There is a regular gardening feature by local resident Nonnie Miles, a Motoring 'Blog' by local garage owner Mike Joenn and 'Financial Tips' from Craig Palfrey at Penguin Weath Management. Caerleon Rugby Club are regular contributors to the magazine with news from the rugby pitch and pavilion. The magazine contains a Sudoku & Crossword puzzle and a regular children's spot (sponsored by Kites Nursery) The production of the magazine is supported and paid for by advertising, sponsorship and donations. We are very grateful to Ponthir Community Council & the village hall for their support. Advertising always occupies less than 50% of the space in the magazine.
