Caerleon Poppy Appeal

Each year, for 2 weeks leading up to Armistice Day, we distribute our paper poppies, badges and other merchandise to raise vital funds to help today’s Armed Forces community. And…

Dog Socialisation!

SOCIALISATION  This is so much a buzzword and so misunderstood. Many think that socialisation consists of letting your dog play with lots of other dogs a lot of the time. However, letting your dog play with every dog they see will just lead to a frustrated dog in future. A dog pulling on the end of the lead, desperate to say hello to all the other dogs. It may also wind up leading your dog into an unintentional scrap if they bound up to any and every dog. Puppy playdates…

Start-up of a Community Kitchen

Tasty Not Wasty Utilising surplus food and donated food, I am aiming to start a community kitchen – in Cwmbran but easily accessible. I have been part of an initiative to help those in Cwmbran (and sometimes wider area) with food insecurity for so many extremely valid and sometimes upsetting reasons.  This is taking it up a notch and not just supplying the raw ingredients. The aims are to help reduce food waste, I have been collecting and distributing throughout the summer to different food shares and so this is…

“New Normal” in Child Care

With the end of the summer upon us and no corresponding end to the Covid-19 crisis in sight, we as Nursery owners have been coming to terms with the “New Normal” in child care. On the one hand, it has been absolutely marvellous to get back to work. Not only have we and our staff missed the children, it seems that the children have missed us just as much.   Those first few weeks in July where challenging to say the least. Having taken all the necessary steps to be deemed…

Before I announce the winners of the first Caerleon Scarecrow trail I would like to thank the community for getting behind us and supporting us if it wasn’t for the wonderful people of Caerleon and your enthusiasm then it would never have become as successful as it did. The scarecrow entries that we had were all phenomenal and you can tell a lot of time, effort and care went it to making them. I would also…

Community Spirit holding strong

The amazing photographs captured by Steve…
